Steam Rally Echuca 2013

Date: 08/06/2013 to 09/06/2013
Full Description:
Steam Rally Echuca, this major community event is annually organized by the Rotary Club of Echuca Moama as their fundraising project for the year, passing on funds to deserving not for profit causes and organisations around the district. One of our region ’s longest running major events, Steam Rally Echuca will showcase more than 550 exhibits of working yesteryear and entertain every member of the family with many other different things to see and experience. This family or enthusiast event is a weekend of entertainment to cover all ages and interests annually held on the Queen’s Birthday weekend. Whilst preserving the historical nature of the event by showcasing steam engines valued at well over $500,000 each, vintage cars and working horses, a number of initiatives will roll out to attract a younger audience, including the return of the full-size steaming “Thomas the Tank” engine. The first “Steam Rally” held in 1963 – then known as the “Echuca Steam, Horse and Vintage Rally” is now showcased at Rotary Park, Rose St (or off the Northern Highway), Echuca. Through the foresight of earlier Rotary members, the Club owns the rally venue, Rotary Park. With a rebranding facelift in 2010 the ‘Echuca Steam, Horse and Vintage Car Rally’, is now titled ‘Steam Rally Echuca’. The event celebrates its 49th birthday this coming Queen’s Birthday weekend. Carrying with it is the new modern logo which has been designed to represent a number of other changes being implemented as it gears up for its 50th Anniversary year.

DENI Blues & Roots Festival

Date: 30/03/2013 to 31/03/2013
Full Description:
CEO of Rob Potts Entertainment Edge, Rob Potts said, “To make a successful festival you need a great site, access to lots of people, world class staging and infrastructure and a killer line-up of great international and local talent. The inaugural Deni Blues & Roots Festival at Easter on the famous Deni Ute Muster site brings all of these components together over one million holiday makers and locals take a break and play on the Murray and Edward Rivers. We’re always excited about building a new festival, especially when everything seems just right for the occasion.” Chugg and Potts have worked hard along with Deni Play on the Plains Festival Ltd Board and staff when they announced their plans to run the muster site into a broader entertainment complex from earlier this year, saying its implementation would depend on government funding for site improvements. Funding which was confirmed earlier this year by Regional Development Australia. Matthew Lazarus-Hall, CEO Chugg Entertainment said: “The inaugural Deni Blues & Roots Festival is an exciting new event for us to be a part of, having worked on a number of great festivals over the years that are staged around the Easter long weekend, we know that this is the perfect time of year for people to get away from their busy lives for a few days and enjoy some great live music.” Camping facilities will be available on site from Good Friday 12pm till Monday 12pm April 1st. VIP tents will be available for 2 man or 4 man tents in a special area called Tent City. The VIP tents will be set up on site and made ready for people upon arrival. For those not wanting General camping will also be available. The venue is fully licensed. Festival General Manager, John Harvie said, “It’s a fantastic coup for Deniliquin and the region to host an event of this calibre and to work with industry icons Michael Chugg and Rob Potts.” The stunning weekend line up will include local acts and big international names: Santana Steve Miller Band Bonnie Raitt Chris Isaak Tony Joe White Jimmy Cliff Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk Chris Wilson/Geoff Achison Band Gallie & Shannon Bourne Collard Greens & Gravy Morgan Evans Ward’s Express Marco Goldsmith Band
