The Dubbo Show is a recognised social meeting place for families and neighbours. It is an occasion for the exchange of ideas of all kinds and an opportunity to view trade displays. There will be plenty to see and do at the Dubbo Show. Lee Kernaghan and the Wolfe Brothers with be playing at the Show on Friday Night. Saturday, 4 May will feature the Grand Parade, The Golden Axe wood-chopping carnival, harness racing, shearing and much more. As usual, there will be plenty of animals with yard dogs, poultry shows, Brahmans as the feature breed in the cattle section, and Border Leicesters as the feature breed in the sheep sections to be held in conjunction with the NSW Landmark Sheep Show. There will also be the usual side show and show bags.

Dubbo proved another resounding success as the first in the 2012 Boarding Schools Expo series. With over 150 families and representatives of 32 leading schools from Sydney and regional NSW, as well as the ICPA, the event proved a busy two days. This year, Dubbo will host 34 schools on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre. Just over a quarter of the visitors to the Dubbo Expo had visited in previous years, proving that decisions on the appropriate school take time and that people are willing to keep on coming back to the Expo to learn more about the options available.
