McClelland Sculpture Survey & Award 2012 / 2013

The Frankston City People's Choice Award of $20,000 is voted for by visitors to the McClelland Sculpture Survey exhibition. The Award, sponsored by Frankston City Council, is given to the artist whose sculpture attracts the most votes from the general public.

Since its inception in 2003, the McClelland Sculpture Survey has emerged as the most important outdoor sculpture exhibition in Australia, displaying a wide range of works in different media and styles by both established and emerging artists.

Located just 6km from Quest Frankston, this provides a great family outdoor experience and your input could be the winning vote!

McAleer Open Championships - Irish Dancing

Full Description:
Over the Queen's Birthday long weekend in June (8th 9th and 10th), the McAleer Open Irish Dancing championships is hosted in the beautiful beach side location of Frankston. Irish dancing is a fabulous traditional style of dancing where performers often wear colourful and extravagant costumes.

As well as being a vibrant and culturally diverse event held locally, it attracts hundreds of people to Frankston, many of them choosing to stay within the local area. Over 300 world class dancers travel to the Peninsula along with their friends and families to support this wonderful event, the second largest of its kind in Australia.

This event is open to all members of the public, and is free to attend. It is held in the Langwarrin Preforming Arts Centre, a fully air conditioned and heated venue with a seating capacity of 300 people.

Special accommodation rates have been arranged with Quest Frankston. With a shuttle bus running walking distance for competitors, these Serviced apartments are an ideal place to stay.
