Ascott appoints David Mansfield as Managing Director for Australia

Australia, 2 February 2021 – CapitaLand’s wholly owned lodging business unit, The Ascott Limited (Ascott), has appointed Mr David Mansfield as Ascott’s Managing Director for Australia with effect from today.

Mr Mansfield joined Quest Apartment Hotels (Quest) as Chief Operations Officer in July 2019, following Ascott’s investment in an 80% stake in Quest in July 2017. Mr Mansfield said: “As a unified group, we will be able to drive operational efficiencies, and reap greater synergies through cross marketing and sharing of business intelligence to deliver greater value for our customers and business partners. We will leverage our greater breadth of expertise to continue to grow our presence and navigate this challenging time together with tenacity to bring Ascott to greater heights.”

Last year, despite the global pandemic, Quest opened a total of six new properties – Quest Robina in Gold Coast; Quest Perth Ascot in Perth; Quest Preston, Quest Wangaratta, and Quest Ballarat Station in Victoria, Australia; as well as Quest Palmerston North in Wellington, New Zealand.

Ascott also secured its first property in Australia under its ‘lyf’ coliving brand that is designed for millennials and millennial-minded customers. lyf Collingwood Melbourne is slated to open in 2022.
