Update 8 June 2021 – A statement from the Managing Director of Quest Apartment Hotels, David Mansfield.
On behalf of Quest Apartment Hotels, I would like to firmly reiterate our company’s commitment to Launceston as a tourism destination, and our Quest Launceston property.
The franchisee has filed for bankruptcy and the hotel is currently in the hands of the liquidator, however it is our intention to remedy this situation and reopen the location.
For now, I would like to issue an apology to all guests affected by the sudden closure over the weekend. We can fully appreciate it would have been a confusing, stressful, and disheartening experience, and for that we are truly sorry.
Equally, we would like to acknowledge and apologise to affected staff. We do not condone the manner in which the franchisee has elected to handle this situation and hope to be able to reinstate you to your positions soon.
Please bear with us as we work hard to get Quest Launceston reopened, and restore your confidence in the business.
