Your weekend kicks off in the laidback beachside town of Scarborough. Enjoy the spectacular views over breakfast at beachside café, Seaburbia. A half hour drive away is Victoria Quay in Fremantle, where you can board the Rottnest Island bound ferry for a day of island adventures. Make the most of the breathtaking azure waters with a glass bottom sea kayaking tour or explore the area on Segway. A day in the sun will leave you eager to check in to the beautiful Quest Scarborough, for a relaxing night in.
Your guest services team at Quest Scarborough will be able recommend a great spot for breakfast before you embark on the next leg on your journey. Journey south for two hours and reach Bunbury, an area that boasts an impressive arts scene. Take a stroll and admire the street art murals, before heading to Bunbury Regional Art Galleries, set in a striking pink heritage building which was once a convent. Next, walk up to Marlston Hill Lookout. The steepness of the walk will be long forgotten once you take in the stunning views. Check in at the gorgeous Quest Bunbury, before heading out for dinner.
Get on the road early in the direction of Busselton, an area known for its humpback whale population. Enjoy a whale watching tour in Geographe Bay, where whales call home from September to December before migrating north. Or, if dark and mysterious is more you pace, you can’t go past the Mammoth Cave in Dunsborough. An impressive limestone cave with great paleontological significance, embedded in the wall of the Mammoth Cave is a fossil jawbone of a long-extinct (circa 50,000 years ago) giant marsupial species. Next stop, Margaret River – a wine region that produces 20% of Australia’s premium wine. Take your pick of one the many wineries for lunch, before hopping between cellar doors and sampling the region’s finest drops. Our picks are Evoi Wines, Willespie, Mongrel Creek Vineyard.
There is nowhere quite like WA. We hope you’ve had a wonderful weekend with Quest!
