Careless is an Australian documentary that explores the growing strain on the country’s aged care system, with a focus on families caring for elderly relatives at home. About the Filmmakers 

Careless is directed by Sue Thomson, known for her work on The Coming Back Out Ball Movie (MIFF 2018 Closing Night Gala) and Under Cover (MIFF 2022). The film is produced by Adam Farrington-Williams, whose previous credits include Geeta (MIFF 2021). 

The filmmakers bring a blend of documentary expertise and social insight, aiming to elevate public understanding of aged care in Australia through storytelling. 

Screenings across Victoria in August 

Following its premiere at MIFF, Careless will continue screening at select venues in Melbourne and regional Victoria throughout August. The documentary is expected to reach a wide audience across the state, with plans for broader release under discussion.
