What to bring
For this Queensland road trip from the golden beaches of the Gold Coast through Brisbane to the garden city of Toowoomba, pack for sun, city adventures and a touch of cooler highland air.
Pack for Queensland sunshine: light clothing and beach essentials for the Gold Coast, and a smart-casual set for Brisbane's dining precincts and Toowoomba's award-winning restaurants. A light layer is useful for Toowoomba's slightly cooler altitude, and if you are travelling with pets, all Quest properties along this route are pet-friendly. Binoculars are handy for wildlife spotting in the Lamington National Park hinterland near the Gold Coast.
Explore Gold Coast
Perfectly-positioned to take advantage of everything the southern Gold Coast has to offer, the pet-friendly Quest Robina is within walking distance of the shops and eateries of Robina Town Centre. Accessible-accredited, the property is also just a 15-minute drive from golden Miami Beach and the dining precinct of Nobby Beach. The Home Of The Arts (HOTA) gallery, Miami Marketta night market and the Jellurgal Aboriginal Cultural Centre are all within easy reach.

Explore Brisbane
Pet-friendly and accessible-accredited, Quest Breakfast Creek in Albion is the perfect base from which to explore the local neighbourhood and the wider city beyond. Take an evening stroll down Kingsford Smith Drive to enjoy the balmy sunset over the river, or simply cross the road to experience the famous, French Renaissance-style Breakfast Creek Hotel. Howard Smith Wharves, Soak Bathhouse and the Queensland Cultural Centre's world-class museums are all an easy journey from the property.

Explore Toowoomba
With 74 apartment-style rooms, some of which overlook the lush Queen's Park (one of the city's oldest spots), the pet-friendly Quest Toowoomba is an oasis within walking distance of some of the town's most popular attractions. It's next to Fitzy's pub, a local institution where you can tuck into what might be one of Queensland's best steaks, and also just a short walk from the buzz of Ruthven Street and the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery.

Journey Home
Toowoomba to the Gold Coast is around two hours east, or you can head south-east to Brisbane in just over an hour and a half. Take a last morning stroll through Queens Park before you pack up – the gardens are at their best in the morning light – and stop at The Baker's Duck for a takeaway coffee and pastry to fuel the drive. A visit to Picnic Point for one final panoramic view over the valley is a worthy send-off.
