Brisbane Entertainment Centre
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is Brisbane’s main multipurpose facility, formed as part of the 1992 Olympics Games bid. The centre hosts a range of sporting events such as basketball, netball and volleyball, and major music stars have held concerts at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre including; Michael Jackson, Eric Clapton, Taylor Swift and many more. The opening of the centre welcomed British ice skaters Torvill and Dean who performed their professional debut for the Centre’s first ever event.
Brisbane Entertainment Centre is not only the home of sporting, music events and family shows, but also a world class facility for conferences, product launches, seminars and galas. In 2010 and 2012, it was ranked No. 1 Venue in the world (capacity of 10,000 – 15,000). Other well-known events that take place at the Centre include; Supercross, Bull Riding, Gladiators (TV filming), Circuses, Wrestling, Boxing and Ice events.
Located in Boondall, a northern suburb of Brisbane, the centre is easily accessible by Queensland Rail City network via Boondall Station which is a 5 minute walk from the centre. There are no buses to the Centre, however plenty of parking is available with 4,000 car spaces, and many taxis frequent the area as well. Brisbane’s CBD is just a half hour drive away and Brisbane Airport is only a 20 minute drive.
