MONA (Museum of Old and New Art)

MONA, or Museum of Old and New Art is located on the Berriedale peninsula in Hobart. MONA is home to Australia’s largest private collection of antiquities and modern artworks. The museum gathers a very wide art collection ranging from ancient Egyptian mummies and artefacts to controversial contemporary art pieces.

Reaching MONA is made possible by a 30-minute high-speed ferry departing from Hobart's waterfront at Brooke Street Pier which will take you up the Derwent River and drop you right at the steps leading to the museum. Alternatively, the museum is a short 15-minute drive from Hobart’s centre.
