What's On at the War Memorial

Date: 01/01/2014 to 31/12/2016
Full Description:
Anzac Day goes beyond the anniversary of the landing on Gallipoli in 1915. It is the day on which we remember Australians who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations. The spirit of Anzac, with its human qualities of courage, mateship, and sacrifice, continues to have meaning and relevance for our sense of national identity. Remembrance Day (11 November) marks the anniversary of the armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18). The National Convention Centre

Full description:
Located in the Australian Capital Territory, the city offers access to influential national bodies, government contacts and it has a wealth of national monuments and attractions which give gala events that extra something. The National Convention Centre is Canberra’s largest, purpose-built functions, meetings and events venue. Unrivalled in facilities, size and scope, the convention centre provides a collection of more than 15 spaces over two floors. The National Convention Centre is conveniently located just 7km from airport and just minutes walk from a range of accommodation options and the city centre, with simple access to the very best Canberra attractions. One of Australia’s few planned cities, Canberra is a place where architectural style complements the beauty of the surrounding Australian bush. Located on the ancient lands of the traditional owners, the Ngunnawal people, Canberra is thought to derive its name from the Aboriginal word Kamberra or ‘meeting place’. Delegates will be at ease with the welcoming nature of the people who live and work in the national capital. Find out how truly hospitable Canberrans are—book your next event at the National Convention Centre and see why it’s ‘Where the nation meets’.
