For Quest, ‘doing better’ has always started in the communities we call home. Since 2024, that philosophy had played out in our partnership with not-for-profit environmental organisation Hotels for Trees, where our guests have the opportunity to turn their stay into the roots of something bigger.
The premise is simple: when you stay with us, you have the opportunity to skip your daily room clean. In exchange, a tree is planted on your behalf, helping to regrow Aussie forests and reduce CO2 in the atmosphere.
To date, over 25,000 trees have been planted across 30 properties.
It’s a fantastic result, and one we’re looking to strengthen with our upcoming April campaign.
The April challenge: 5,000 trees in 30 days
This April, we are inviting our guests to help us reach our most ambitious milestone yet. From 1–30 April, Quest properties across the country are joining forces for Quest for a Cause.
Our goal is to fund 5,000 trees in just one month.
"We know that our guests are proactively looking for ways to reduce their environmental footprint while they travel, and it’s something we admire very much,” explains David Mansfield, Managing Director of The Ascott Limited, Australasia.
“This April, we are giving them a measurable way to do just that. By hitting our 5,000-tree goal, we aren’t just talking about sustainability; we’re working alongside our guests to physically restore the planet for future generations."
Transparency you can trust
Today, more than ever, travellers value transparency. It’s another reason we were so compelled to partner with Hotels for Trees – their comprehensive reporting allows us to track exactly how our collective efforts are growing. Every $6.50 donation (the cost of one tree) is a proactive step toward a greener future.
Whether you are travelling for business or a weekend getaway, your choice to skip a clean contributes to a high-density rainforest site in the Byron Bay region. Specific native species are chosen for their ability to sequester significantly more carbon (roughly 200kg over the first 25 years of the tree's life) and restore the critically endangered ‘Big Scrub’ ecosystem.
"Quest has been a pioneer for our movement in Australia since 2023,” says Hugo van Roermund, Hotels for Trees’ APAC representative.
“This April campaign is a bold step forward and a tangible way to offset the carbon emissions of a hotel stay. We’re thrilled with the ongoing support of the Quest network.”
Quest’s Hotels for Trees April Challenge continues throughout the month of April. Look out for the Hotels for Trees signage in your room, or speak to the front desk staff to make your contribution.
