Quest franchisees recognised as nation's best

Quest Bundoora franchisees, Mark and Ky O’Shea were awarded single-unit franchisee of the year with two or more staff by the Franchise Council of Australia.

The award recognises excellence in the industry and is awarded by Australia’s peak body for franchising.

The couple started out as property managers at Quest Knox before franchising their first property in 2007. They have since gone on to franchise successful Quest hotels in Bundoora and Epping.

Mark and Ky O’Shea employ 23 local staff in a mix of full time, part time and casual roles. The business enjoys a high retention of team members which is attributed to flexible work conditions, proximity to home, career development opportunities and a supportive small business culture.

Mark and Ky also moonlight as co-founders of Team Kill Cancer, a charity offering support services for families fighting cancer. For the past three years, Team Kill Cancer has raised over $200,000.

Mark is also the vice president and junior girl’s coordinator at the Diamond Valley Soccer Club. With a great passion for the girl’s side of the game, participation has gone from just one girls team three years ago, to now fielding six girls team at the club.

Quest Apartment Hotels General Manager - Franchise Operations, David Ridgeway had only glowing praise for the ambitious and hard-working couple:

"Mark and Ky O’Shea have been with Quest for more than 15 years and have operated some of our most successful Quest franchise businesses in Melbourne, which won them our top franchise award for Australia last year."

“The Quest business franchise model continues to make a significant contribution to the hotel industry in Australia. We’re thrilled to see Mark and Ky's hard work recognised by the FCA Excellence in Franchising awards program.”
