Moments of doing Better

Quest’s new partnership amplifying the voices of regional Australia

There’s a unique heartbeat to regional Australia. It’s there in the easy smiles and connected communities, the rugged natural beauty and hardworking locals. It’s a feeling of coming home, even when you’re from out of town.

It’s a heartbeat we’ve always been tuned into at Quest, and the reason our commitment to regional Australia is woven through the communities we serve. It’s also why we’ll never stop shouting about the magic of this country’s quieter corners.

Further strengthening this alignment is our newly announced three-issue partnership with Galah magazine, a vibrant and rapidly growing independent media platform dedicated to amplifying the voices and stories from regional communities.

Founded by Annabelle Hickson (whose own journey from city girl to country local took place when she fell in love with a pecan farmer from western NSW), Galah is more than just a magazine; it's a celebration of the resilience and spirit of the bush.

“I am thrilled Galah is partnering with Quest Apartment Hotels,” says Annabelle. “As a champion of all things regional Australia, Quest is a perfect match for us. What truly sealed this partnership for me was discovering Quest’s commitment to providing free accommodation to young cancer patients aged 15-25 who live 100 kilometres or more from their treating hospital. This alignment of values  – supporting regional Australians when they need it most – makes our collaboration not just strategic, but meaningful.”

At Quest, we share this belief in the power of the regions. It’s why regional locations collectively account for a significant 60 per cent of our national revenue, a testament to the strategic value and vitality of these areas. With a strong presence of 37 properties across regional Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, our commitment is clear.

This three-issue collaboration with Galah will bring to life the authentic tapestry of the regions that make our country so special, through travel guides and regional spotlights, as well as Galah’s newly launched podcast, Conversations with people from beyond the city.

Looking for the perfect time to listen? Plan a road trip with one of our Quest to See Australia itineraries, curated to uncover hidden gems and natural wonders along the way. We have itineraries through WA, Outback Queensland and the mighty Murray River, including:

“It’s no secret we love regional Australia here at Quest,” says David Mansfield, Managing Director of Ascott Australasia. “There is so much of this big, beautiful country that we don’t want people to miss out on, which is why we’re inviting Aussies to see more of our often-overlooked towns and regions. Galah magazine is the perfect encapsulation of the people and places that make Australia so unique, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with Annabelle and her team.”
