Quest Toowoomba officially reopens its doors

Quest Toowoomba Exterior

19th February 2018

Today, Quest Apartment Hotels reopens its doors in Toowoomba, following nine months of restoration work. The hotel was damaged by fire on June 13 last year, after a blaze broke out at an adjacent property. To celebrate the reopening, the property will be open to the public from 5-7pm on both Monday, February 19 and Tuesday, February 20.

Building owner FKG commenced the $5 million restoration works immediately after the blaze, replacing soft furnishings, broken windows and glass, electrical, plumbing and wiring along with fresh paint and carpet throughout, after smoke and heat ravaged the
entire eastern face of the hotel.

Quest Toowoomba Franchisee, Cynthia Rice has been with Quest since 2003, bringing with her 15 years of experience and an in-depth knowledge of how the business operates.

“During the restoration period, both Quest Toowoomba and the Burke and Wills hotel were out of action, drastically limiting CBD accommodation options for visitors. We are greatly looking forward to welcoming our guests back today and providing a much needed premium accommodation option in the city of Toowoomba.”

“I couldn’t be more grateful for the relationships we have built and the significant support we have received from the local business community. This has been instrumental in keeping the team’s spirits high in the lead up to today’s reopening,” Mrs Rice said.

“The former Church of Christ building is of significant cultural value to the local community, representing part of Toowoomba’s history, while having a wonderful aesthetic. We couldn’t be happier to have restored it to its former glory,” she concluded.

Located at 133 Margaret Street, the property features 74 apartments in total – a combination of studio apartments with kitchenettes, along with one, two and three bedroom apartments with kitchen and laundry facilities and a separate living/dining area. Rooms are equipped with LED Smart TVs, Wi-Fi, Foxtel and the property includes onsite car parking, gymnasium and conference room facilities.
